Shivangi Bhatia is an associate at Cowdery, Murphy & Healy, LLC. Prior to joining the firm, Shivangi was an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York. Her practice involved litigating a broad array of complex civil and commercial disputes nationwide, including antitrust matters, class actions, and appeals. In addition, Shivangi advised and defended global companies in federal investigations led by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission.
Shivangi served as a law clerk to the Honorable Maria Araújo Kahn of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 2023 to 2024. Shivangi also clerked for Chief Justice Richard A. Robinson and then-Justice Kahn of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 2022 to 2023.
Shivangi began her career as an associate at Weil after graduating cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in 2021. While in law school, Shivangi was an Associate Editor of the Fordham Law Review and the Moot Court Board. Her note, “To ‘Otherwise Make Unavailable’: Tenant Screening Companies’ Liability Under the Fair Housing Act’s Disparate Impact Theory,” was published in Volume 88 of the Fordham Law Review. It was later cited by the Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in a joint amicus brief before the Second Circuit in 2023. Shivangi is a 2017 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis.
